[qi 1y3m]

Qi loves to droodle. Whenever I took out crayons or water color for her brother, she will join in the fun immediately. But usually she'll get bored after one drawing and starts to droodle on the floor! She even put the brush inside her mouth once before I could stop her, sigh ....

I'm done!!! Gosh, all the red paint on my pants!

Don't color the floor, Qi!!!

"O-oh~~~" saying with her little finger pointing. (She said this when she has done something wrong. But, she will purposely did it again and again said "O-oh")

Following is a color pencil drawing which done by Qi one month ago ^_^

[Xiang 2y5m; Qi 1y3m] We Luv Yogurt

My son Xiang love yogurt since his first taste on it, due to his cough problem, I dare not give him too often. What I did what take it out from fridge for at least 30 minutes for the chills to subside before giving it to him.

Qi recently had her first taste of yogurt, her expression was funny. I think she felt it tasted weird at first, but after her 2nd try, she was yelling "mumm mumm" non-stop. ^_^

Chinese SenSei Method

[xiang: 2y5m]

Xiang has this cough & phlegm problem ever since 6 months old. He is diagnosis as having minor asthma problem and whenever he is coughing furiously with phlegm, he needs to be on his inhalers again. There were 4 times where he had to put on nebulisers at the pediatrician place. After he entered into the kindergarten, his condition is getting worse. His cough-free days will only last for 2 to 3 weeks and I always wonder whether his little body could take so much medicine.

Asthma is actually a condition whereby the airways (of lungs) become irritated and inflamed. As a result, they became narrower and produce extra mucus. This makes it more difficult for air to flow into and out of the lungs and causes the symptoms of asthma. I’ve also heard from others that taking medicine for a prolonged period of time will make the situation worse as the medicine will not be able to provide relief during an attack after passage of time.

Thus, we have decided to treat him using the Chinese SenSei Method instead. Last Sunday is the second time we paid a visit to the SenSei, waited for more than 2 hours!

The cough syrup has a very strong Chinese herbs taste plus some mint flavor (we tried it ourselves and YUCKKKK!!!). Xiang immediately turned away from the medicine when first time trying it, with his face crooked up and even crying little bit. We use raisins or Ribena pastilles and he managed to swallow the 2 table spoon of Chinese herbs. Xiang is naughty is many ways but he is really superb when came to taking medicine. Even my hubby (who had cough problem and was given the similar taste cough syrup) felt like vomiting after taking his medicine.

After the 2 bottle of cough syrup, we need to prepare a herb-drink 七辛茶 for him. Then, we will take him to the SenSei again for next round of checking up. I hope that this time it will work for him. I can say that it is working well until now since his cough is under control after 3 days of medicine. Usually, he needs at least 3 visits to the pediatrician before he could fully recover.

Here’s a photo of his medicine

And some photos of him taking it.

Other than this, we are also trying to keep our house dust free. Floor is swept & moped daily, furniture is wiped daily, bed-sheets are changed once per week, curtains are washed once per month, and recently, we have installed an air-purifier in our bedroom.

When we were together ...

23 & 24 May 2009

Last weekend was a busy weekend for me, there's so much that I did, went to help out a green project, bought toiletries for my kids due to their sensitive skin, met my old buddy and her chubby 7 month daughter, brought my son to a sensei, and .... meeting my online friends for the first time!

Frankly, I'm a not-outgoing-person, and I was quite nervous to meet them. When I reached Maggie house, it was already 3pm, last one to arrived. When I went up to Maggie house, all of the 3 ladies are sitting there chatting.

I couldn't recognise Maggie at first glance, she definitely looks prettier and much younger than her photos! Her cozy home is nice and I love her kid's room! Guess what, I have visited Maggie's area numerous time coz my brother in law house is just the next neighbourhood to Maggie's area! Kiyo is super cute, she's just like her mom, small size. Her face is small but her eyes are huge, making her looks like a cute doll. She performed a show together with her father, which makes us laughed non-stop!!! I love to see daughter-father with this kind of relationships, being so closed together ^_^

Hui Chen looks just like in her photo, but she's really tall! When we went to pasar on Sunday, I guess she really gotta squeeze her arms & legs in order to fit into my tiny car! Haha, paiseh paiseh! She won on Sunday morning breakfast time --- to able to get the check and paid for the breakfast! I should be paying instead as she's a guest. She's good with kids, even become a temporary nanny on both days when we were busy.

Alyse is very "si mun" (soft-spoken & gentle). No wonder she's bully by her "si tou poh". Apparently, her house is very near to my house too. Too bad that I did not have a chance to go to her house this time, maybe next time.

One funny scene is that though our Sat dinner place is extremely hot, the 4 of us kept on chatting non-stop after the dinner. All the others have already gone out of the restaurant as it was cooler outside. Then we realised it's late and decided to leave. We stood in front of the restaurant to bid farewell but the chatting started again!!! hahahahaha, really "mu sei tek" to leave.

I've got so many gifts on that day, some which I only realised after Hui Chen went back! So paiseh... Next time we must make a rule not to bring any gifts when we meet!

Haha, I've forgotten take out the 2 mangoes in my fridge when I took this photo.

Guess I was too nervous that I've totally forgotten to bring camera on that day. When they are in my house, I too forgotten to take some pictures, aisey .... Luckily we had some during our dinner, go to Maggie's album to see them ^_^

A GREEN effort

This came in last minute, each divisions were requested to send representatives. When I was asked to join by my boss, I was torned in between this and my dear friend is coming all the way from Melaka. I'm so glad that she understood.

I guess that everyone should really starting caring for our environment, if not, there won't be any GREEN left for our little dear children. I've recently received an article about the plastic water bottle and gosh, I never realised such a little thing could have done harm to our environment. I'll try not to use such plastic bottle again, and if I did, I'll recycle them for sure.

Anyway, just for promoting, Sony will be having a corner at the Rainforest 1-Utama, starting from today until 24 May 2009 (Sunday). You just need to bring the recycled items as in below photo (in case it's small, I've attached the file) and be rewarded with goodies (don't asked me, I myself doesn't know what's in the goodies). There's some events for you to join in as well.

Anyway, tomorrow will be a busy day for me. Morning, I'll be rushing to 1-Utama as a helper for this green event. Then I'll drop by my good dear old pal who stays nearby 1-Utama. Afterwards, I'll bring my kids to a Chinese sensei (who also stays nearby) for a follow-up checking. Then, I'll be heading to meet my dear Melaka friend!!!

Oatmeal Prawn and our Sunday dishes

17.05.09 Saturday – my family came to my house. My mom & her maid purposely came all the way from hometown to teach my new maid. Phew! My crazy days of cleaning are finally over! The first thing my hubby said to me:”I want to eat the sambal pork!” I guess he missed home-cooked food a lot (and the sambal). So, my kitchen is back to operation again

18.05.09 Sunday morning – I went market with my mom, saw there are prawns. I bought some to cook the
Yoki’s oatmeal prawn package.
So here’s our Sunday dishes:
- oatmeal prawn (thanks Yoki!)

- omelet with onion
- home-planted 蕃暑叶
- seaweed soup (紫菜) with kid size fish balls
- sambal Pork
- pancake - eaten as it is or wrapped with some anchovies-onion sambal (大葱江鱼仔)

Nothing special, right? But for us, home-cooked food even though simple is the best!

[xiang 2y4m; qi 1y2m] Super Hero!?

Introducing the Baby Cat Woman!
*DON"T PULL!!! QI!*

And the Oboman!

Xiang’s creation of a super character name, something like an ultraman, but copy the ultraman poss.

I've never thought of buying my kids masks as I have thought that they would rejected something tied around their face. I was so wrong!
Though they played this only for awhile (well, same goes with other toys), but I had a good time laughing with them. Mommy wore one too, but too bad (or lucky, I should say), daddy not around to take photo of the 3 crazy super heros at home.

[Qi 1y2m] - pom pom hair !?

Lately, I like to tie my gal's hair into 2 "coconut tree" instead of 1, main reason because her hair is really getting long. But there's also con doing this, see how she looks like after a session of "coconut tree" at night ......

Like my new hair style?

No matter how I tried to comb it, it still "fly" up high like this .... sigh ....

Next time no need to perm hair liao .....

She's holding her favourite bolster by the way. She got 2. Sometimes, when she was awaken in the middle of the night, she go round her crib searching until she got both, 1 hand holding 1.

Wah~~~ thank you Yoki dear

6th May 2009

Just as usual, I checked my mails when I came back from work today, woh woh woh woh! Got mail for me lei, a very big white envelope, and bulky too! Instantly, I look for sender, no name but a company stamp and it's already enough for me to know who is she, this Sealite Optical is getting very popular here in multiply!

THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH YOKI DEAR! You really very nice to give me all the gifts, not once, but numerous times over the short period which I've known you!

See, so many things inside the envelope:

Let me show you one by one:

1) Doreamon & his sister - I love them a lot!!!!! Handmade with such a nice sewing done. There is a pin on the back. Currently, they are on my fridge door ^_^

2) Instant Crispy Prawn with Cereal - I've looked at the instructions at the back, this seems easy even for a dumb cook like me. My hubby will sure like this!

3) Disney Princess Coloring & Sticker Book - This is for Qi. It even has a princess magnet to close up the pages! Haha, again, bad mama rampas the magnet and put on fridge door ^_^

4) Ben10 Activity & Sticker Book - This is for Xiang. I asked Xiang who is that on the book, he immediately told me "Ben10"!!! His nanny's son is very into this character and he 'learnt' a lot from him! Actually, until now, I still don't know what this Ben10 character does, never watched the carton before ... (no need me to repeat, the Doraemon magnet also at my fridge door, wahahahahaha!)

My kids had a very good time doing the book -

Xiang who is more familiar with his 'A to I', took the stickers and enjoyed pasting them at the book, at the same time practicing his phonics (or I should say teaching the two of us since we do not learnt phonics at all!). He also kept on asking me whether the Doraemon is his, and gave the Doraemon sister to Qi. I've no idea what's Doraemon sister's name?

Qi was playing with the magnet, and was very amazed how could 2 things stick together with pulling force. She kept on sticking them together, pulling them apart and repeat and repeat again. I pasted the stickers on her book for her, guess what she did???

She korek korek with her finger nails to take out the stickers again. That's her favourite. All her toys have torn stickers due to she likes to take them out.

Though I'm a bit cheong hei, but I want to say kam siah again to Yoki. You are too hak hei ...

[xiang 2y4m, 3 Fun class] Field trip: LRT ride + Zoo Negara

Field trip: LRT ride + Zoo Negara
Date: 30 April 2009, 8.30am ~ 3pm

The day before ~~~
I’ve packed a backpack for Xiang’s tomorrow field trip: change of clothes, Xiang’s water tumbler, my water tumbler, hanky (3), diaper, snacks, handycam, umbrella, fan, hot & warm water for making milk, milk powder & milk bottle. It was so heavy! I wonder I could carry all that till 3pm and what if Xiang asked me to “bao bao”!? Finally, we’ve decided not to bring the hot & warm water for making milk, milk powder & milk bottle, hoping that he will not request for it.

Field trip day!
First thing Xiang said after woke up was: “我要去zoo!” (I want to go to zoo!). He’s looking forward to it and so am I!
Reached the school at 8.30am, lining up and briefing from the headmaster - main point is those like us (parents going together) must keep an eye on our children since the other teachers need to concentrate on others going-alone-children. Approximately 2~3 teachers bringing a group of 10~12 children. The teachers are very dedicated to this event, some even asked their grown-up children & husbands to help out. This is the first I saw D Cheers – “yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah! Su~~~Per~~~Bee~~~” haha, cute!
When we made our moved heading towards the gate, Xiang suddenly cried: “不要去school,我要去zoo~~~” hahahaha, he’s used to lining up when going inside the classroom, that’s why he misunderstood ^_^
This was the first time Xiang boarded a bus! “Bus” is one of his first words, but I’ve never took him on a ride before. He enjoyed it very much and also the hotdog bread (one of his favorite actually) given by the teacher. Along the way, 3 children volunteered to sing, and to my surprise, all 3 year old class. Super good singer even to adults’ ears!
First stop was the LRT station, we waited for around 15 min before going in and a briefing from the Putra Line staff. We parents not missing the chance of snapping photos with the child’s friends! A gal was particular caring for Xiang, even wiped his saliva away using his bib! Hahaha, Xiang has a jiejie in class ^_^
The train ride took around 20 minutes, stopping 2 stops. Later only we found out that there’s a communication problem between the kindergarten and Putra Line because we were supposed to have the train all by ourselves without stopping. No problem at all anyway. Xiang was excited as well, looking out of the window, commenting that the train was very high and fast. He learned a new word – LRT and saw with his own eyes how does a train looks like.
After the LRT ride, we went on board of bus again to the Zoo. When we finally reached the Zoo, it’s already 11.30am! Everyone was sweating but once reaching the zoo, the children all got excited again. The kindergarten’s arrangement was good, they knew that we could not walk much under the hot sun, and so arranged a ride in the tram. If you were a visitor on that day, you will hear the childish voices shouting “Giraffe!!! Elephant!!! Deer!!! Lion!!! Flamingo!!! And all the wahs & ooohs from the 7 trams carrying children & adults. The tram ride was very relaxing and with nice breeze blowing on face. It’s a different experience for both xiang & me since we did not sit on the tram last time.
After that, we walked a short distance to “The Wild” fast-food restaurant. I was at first taken back by why the kindergarten would arrange fast food for kid’s outing, but I guess not much choice in the zoo. They also cleverly put children’s milo in a pepsi-printed-cup and adult’s pepsi in milo-printed cup! The lunch for the kids was nuggets, fries & milo while adults was 2 piece chicken, 1 burger, fries & pepsi. There were some musical rides in the restaurant, I was worried that Xiang might want to go on the ride before his lunch at first. Surprisingly, he sat quietly on his chair and finished most of the nuggets. Hungry I guess. Upon finishing lunch, seeing his pity look (sat on the ride without putting money, drooling at other kids’ moving rides), I exchanged some coins for him. 50 cents per ride, cheap!
Afterwards, we walked a short distance to children’s world. There are some friendly animals there – baby horse, baby goats, baby cow, rabbits and miniature horses! All touchable!
The teachers not forgetting their “nature” instinct: ”Children, H says ……” / “G says ……” / “C says ….”
Kids “huh … huh … huh …” / “ge … ge… ge …” / “keh … keh… keh… “
Teachers :”good good good, so that’s horse, goat and cow!”,
Kids “horse!!!!” / “goat!!!” / “cow!!! “
Teachers smiling and proud include us parents ^_^. At this point, all my tiredness gone, seeing Xiang able to answer too! Hahaha, but the teachers did comment before that he’s good in this.
We didn’t came here last time, as it was raining and we rushed home at that time. Xiang was brave enough to touch and pad the horse’ hare, at the same time giggling and having a good time. Then we went to see a monkey which showing off his swinging skills, making all the kids OHHHH, laughing and clapping. Our last animal before we said goodbye to the zoo was the hippopotamus. 3 giant and lazy animals, hiding themselves inside the water.
When we waited for the other group of kids to arrive, Xiang was already sleeping on my shoulder. A tired but very happy day for him. And me too! Xiang was behaving so great, walking all by himself, eating well, following the crowd and no dangerous acts from him. A very superb arrangement from the kindergarten & committed teachers, taking 5 buses of children & adults, all came home with tired body and uplifted spirit at 3pm. I was so glad that I joined this field trip, so much I’ve earn – being together with Xiang for his first field trip, seeing his great little school friends and knowing some great parents!
