My SAHM life so far

How many days since I started my SAHM life?

Time passes by so quickly. I was extremely busy when there’s works to be done. I felt my heart beats faster and my whole body was sticky with sweat. It's definately harder than sitting in an aircond office, having 3 breaks a day on time and online-ing away!

I think I’ve changed also, towards the bad side unfortunately. I have been getting more impatient with my son.

I was not realizing it, until for a few times, my son has a scared look on his face and told me :” 妈咪…不要骂翔.

Then, I realize I was shouting to him just now. Sigh & double sigh. I'm Sorry

I quit for my kids, but seems like I was doing not very well. I’ve quite got used to cooking, twice a day except weekends. BUT, looking back, I did not do much with them. All my plans of gaining Xiang’s confidence (badly done by me due to my impatient!) and home-teaching Xiang & Qi were on 0% actually.

One thing I did success was making Xiang eats more green vege. He does have hard stools last week when he was on food-strike, but for the past weeks while he has been eating, his stools are very turning into nicer shapes & texture Big Evil Grin

Hahahahaha, I know I'm yucky!

[Xiang 2y9m] Appetite down again

My nanny told me, we can’t talk good things in front of the kids or else they will turn bad. I am not sure how true that is, but it’s what I experience now.

Since I fully took care of Xiang, he has been eating his meal. Slow, but he eats. Last week, I was telling my hubby, my friends and writing in online friends comments boxes that he has been eating well.

The last few days were our nightmares. Sometimes, he didn’t even want to see what’s for lunch or dinner and directly asked us to make milk for him. Sometimes, he just took a bite and immediately clasped his hands over his mouth.

Yesterday, I was so so so furious when he put up the act again when I was trying to feed him. SmileyCentral.com
I told kakak to stay far away from him, and I went to take my own lunch, leaving him alone. He was crying badly in the living hall, calling “mami ... mami ….” but I just ignored him. After a good 20 minutes, I asked kakak to try feeding him. I’ve made up my mind that if he rejected again, he will go on empty stomach! He as if knew I was not going to “manja” him anymore and he finished whole bowl of porridge! It works!

Again, at night, I firmly told him if he’s not eating his dinner, then I’m not going to bring him to see the diggers & dump trucks at the JJ construction site. He finished it.

This morning, I asked him what he wanted for lunch, he replied me mee. So I cooked udon mee for him. After picking him up from school, I firmly told him only after he finished lunch, I will take him to the JJ construction site. It works again!
Funny

So now, I’m not going to mention anymore if he’s eating well. Call me superstitious, but I want to be the safe side.

[Xiang: 2y9m] Finally playing

I've mentioned that Xiang was scared of the fireworks sticks. We gave him a try again on last Monday night.

We curled the wire to a real looooong stick.

Finally, he's playing

New corner

This morning I went to pasar (wet market) near my house. As usual, bought some vege & pork. Then my eyes spotted something else!

Lavender!

1 pot of lavender looks like this

closer ...

closest (how I wish I have pro camera!)

I’m not sure I bought it at reasonable price, RM8/pot, and I took home 2. I just love those flowers! I think I will go look for more Lavender plants to fill up my new corner ^_^

My Ginger Harvest

A few months ago, I found my left-over tiny piece of ginger was sprouting. I planted it beside my chili plant just for found.

It has been growing well, I've trimmed it's leaves several times.
Last few days, I think it's enough and decided to dig the whole thing out. What a surprise! Such a big lump under there.
What a nice feeling! Soooooooooo content! Guess who help me? I found the mama with her bunch of little kids among the soil. I've carefully put them back in their home to help me in the second badge.

[Xiang 2y9m; Qi 1y7m] Fun fair near Queensbay Mall

We went to Penang on 19.09.09 Saturday night, came back on Monday morning. Sorry Penang kaki – Steph & Yoki, I didn’t call you coz our schedules were so full.

I went there to attend my coursemate’s wedding ceremony, a Buddhist wedding ceremony. This is the first ever experience, with charming and monk conducting the ceremony, so special.

At night we make a trip to the fun fair near Queensbay Mall, very nice park indeed, and the kids have so much fun.

This one can fly up punya

This one just go round and round, I was so worried that Qi will stands up, coz there's lotsa space in front of them. Luckily the kids listen to me and hold on to the side only.

I think they enjoy this most, and it will go bumpy up and down, and round a track.

This one fly up high, and quite fast too!

Helicopter ride, I'll be dizzy if I were them.

Chu Chu Train ride, hehe, I'm tired and wanted a ride too :P

[Xiang 2y9m; Qi 1y7m] Lanterns Night

I still have so much work to do, but I wanted so much to write down the wonderful time spent in my hometown last weekend. Blogger sickness!
We went back to Ipoh on last Friday 18 Sep, we entered into Tapah rest area and were so surprise to receive our first ever Hari Raya Gift from The Lion Club.

The kids were so happy to meet each other again, all played crazily, laughing and running around. When one asked for milk, the others also followed.

On Monday night, my second sister took out the candles, lanterns and fireworks for the kids to play. We were so surprise to see that Xiang stepped back when my second sister lighted a fireworks stick for him. This was what he said:

不要吓我…. 我怕怕!” (Don’t frighten me … I’m scared!) He walked away so far whenever he saw the fireworks sticks being lighted up. I actually feel heart pain, coz I see the shadow of me in him. I am a very timid person; dislike all loud noises and horror movies. Xiang is just like me, sigh …

So he was playing with candles and lanterns all night. As long as he enjoyed himself, I don’t want to push him to accept the fireworks sticks.
Qi on contrary likes the fireworks sticks a lot! She kept on asking for more, and didn’t even want to play the lantern nor the candles anymore. I should go to pasar malam one of these days to buy more sticks for her.
It was a wonderful night, everyone of us, including adults enjoyed lighting up the candles and hanging up the lanterns. I hope that we could make another trip back to hometown again next week for the celebrations.
