Porridge: Simple anchovies, carrot, tomota & potato

Saturday, my lazy bones are shaking again. I've no mood for cooking today as I have been cooking lunch & dinner for the past week. But I still have to prepare for my kids lunch.

My super easy soup base works for me again ^_^ Add a large spoonful of fried anchovies + small onion (which I stored in my fridge) to water, dump 1/3 of carrot, 1/5 of tomato & 1/3 of potato.

I maintained the carrot, tomato & potato in the soup, filtering out the anchovies and directly put all into the rice cooker with rice. In less than 1 hour, my kids' porridge was done! Hahahahaha, call me super lazy mom!

Xiang was giving face to me, he finished off a large bowl of it. Qi on the other hand only can finish half of her portion. Her teething problem seems to be disturbing her appetide.

[Xiang 2y8m] Udon noddles; Dish washing

As I am a lousy cook, I'm going to do the posting of my dish more often as a record for my future reference and also to improve on my skills. So, all comments & suggestions are welcome!
My sister gave me a pack of udon noddles, so I cook it as our lunch today. I uses anchovies + small onion as soup base. I have prepared a lot and keep in in freezer, so that in future I just need to dig out some and put them in water to make the preparation of the soup base faster. Lazy mom :P

*Wipe sweat* My son able to finish a big bowl without much fuss, even taking in some vegetables.

While I was cooking, my son kept on following me around. He helped me to wash the noddles and the fish balls (of course I need to do it again!). When I've done with cooking, he's still messing around in the kitchen, using the excuse of washing dishes to play water! I didn't stop him though, hoping that one day, he could be my helper after all! I finally put it to a stop when I declared it's meal time.

Oatmeal Prawn and our Sunday dishes

17.05.09 Saturday – my family came to my house. My mom & her maid purposely came all the way from hometown to teach my new maid. Phew! My crazy days of cleaning are finally over! The first thing my hubby said to me:”I want to eat the sambal pork!” I guess he missed home-cooked food a lot (and the sambal). So, my kitchen is back to operation again

18.05.09 Sunday morning – I went market with my mom, saw there are prawns. I bought some to cook the
Yoki’s oatmeal prawn package.
So here’s our Sunday dishes:
- oatmeal prawn (thanks Yoki!)

- omelet with onion
- home-planted 蕃暑叶
- seaweed soup (紫菜) with kid size fish balls
- sambal Pork
- pancake - eaten as it is or wrapped with some anchovies-onion sambal (大葱江鱼仔)

Nothing special, right? But for us, home-cooked food even though simple is the best!
