[Xiang: 2y11m] Completion of 3 year old class . Holiday Program
Tomorrow, Xiang will complete his 3 year old class. I have no regrets of enrolling him so early, although he is a year end baby.
It seems like yesterday, when we took him for his 1st day class. Then he continueously crying for months! He was such a baby (and he still is, as compared to his classmates told by his teacher).
So after a year completed, what does he gain?
1. Friends - towards the end of school semester, teacher commented that he started to chat with friends in class. (haha, teachers don't like this!)
2. Confidence - not a great degree, but he dares to talk with teachers now.
3. Motor skills - hmm, he's still weak in this.
4. Learning - He's good in this, he knows well his phonics and the items which teachers taught.
5. Prizes or Awards - haha, none for my little boy. He is those so-so grade, not too good and not too bad either.
*************
I have been visiting various schools and centres for holiday classes. I have actually quite keen to enrol him into Bao Bei Chinese Learning.
Wei Xiang doesn't want it. All he wants during the holiday is stay at home and stay with me. When I mentioned about the word "Bao Bei", he will cry immediately. Not those screaming-yelling-cry, but really sad soft sobbing while muttering "我不要去宝贝。。。。我要在家和妈咪一起。。。"
I give up and so, for the coming holiday, I will work out a holiday "program" for him. Well, not those forceful daily schedules. Only one objective in my mind ---> improve his gross & fine motor skills!

[Xiang 2y11m; Qi 1y8m] Year End Concert; Tantrum before sleep
We had a good laugh at him when saw him being make-up ... like a girl!
I'm having difficulty with Qi night time. She was so noisy now. Before this, we just put her to her cot, and she'll fall asleep after awhile. For the past few days, she was shouting VERY LOUDLY and I think she did it deliberately. Then she kept on asking for "shh shh" in potty even though we put diaper on her. When we put her on potty, she sat for awhile, then quickly stood up without pee-ing and SMILED at us. This is very annoying especially after N times and already closed to mid-night. Or she'll asked for toys to play but we can see that she's already so sleepy. She just wanted to continue playing. So for these few nights, she was scolded either by me or her daddy, and cried herself to sleep.
Qi cried and screamed just like being forced to take medicine
I received the same complaint from her nanny, that she likes to SHOUT and getting nottier. I knew that she's not those graceful type of girl but all those screaming and shouting really give me headache and ear-pain.

[Xiang 2y10m; Qi 1y8m] This is the way I wash my car ...
Squeeze squeeze squeeze .....
Scrub scrub scrub .....
Hehe ..... so fun!
meimei digging out the rag while gorgor waiting for his turn to add water in the bucket
See ..... all clean!
How come the bubbles sticked to my hand??? (gosh, she's all wet at this stage and her cloths could twist out water!)
Conclusion: It's FUN for them, but TIRING for the adults!

[Xiang 2y10m] – 1910 : 3 stitches
This is the day which I’ll never forget. Xiang has his first experience of being stitching up.
I brought Xiang to one of my good friend’s house. It was a happy gathering until Xiang fell down. I was too slow to react and just watching him fell from sofa. I heard a loud sound and knew he hit something.
When I picked him up, I was not able to see his face yet, one of my friend shouted: “OMG! BLOOD!!!”. Xiang was crying furiously “头疼疼!!!”. My brain was blank then. He put his hand over his forehead and I too put mine over his hand. Another friend handed me some tissues, then only I realized both of hands are covered with blood, some dripping into his arms & shirt. I told my friend to send us immediately to clinic.
Xiang was amazingly brave, while we rushed out the door. He has stop crying. I told him that we are going to doctor and he’s going to be alright. He understood and told me that he wanted to go to the doctor.
I am so glad that my friends remained calm. I overheard that they were calling the clinic to confirm the available of the clinic. It was lunch hour and there’s none doctor on call. So we headed to another nearest clinic. It’s at the second floor of a shopping complex.
Once we got down the car, everyone was looking at us. There’s a man who’s so helpful. He opened the door for us and even run to stop the lift for us (the lift’s door was open when we saw it). We headed straight into the clinic though there were lots of patients waiting outside; I guess all doesn’t mind seeing the blood from Xiang’s forehead.
The doctor was superb, speaking softly to Xiang, washed and cleaned his wound. Xiang was brave too when having his stitches – 3 of them. The third one is a bit painful, a little crying from him, then all done.
See, he got the blue-black on Sunday (fell from playground). Then on Monday another scar on his forehead. I hope that his scar will not be permanent.
P/S: He seems not getting his lessons, today he climbed up my window grills, letting go one of his hand to grab the baby powder bottle from my high cabinet. Then second time, he pulled his kiddy table to take down the big swimming pool from the store room. Haiz ….

[Xiang 2y9m] Appetite down again
Since I fully took care of Xiang, he has been eating his meal. Slow, but he eats. Last week, I was telling my hubby, my friends and writing in online friends comments boxes that he has been eating well.
The last few days were our nightmares. Sometimes, he didn’t even want to see what’s for lunch or dinner and directly asked us to make milk for him. Sometimes, he just took a bite and immediately clasped his hands over his mouth.
Yesterday, I was so so so furious when he put up the act again when I was trying to feed him.
I told kakak to stay far away from him, and I went to take my own lunch, leaving him alone. He was crying badly in the living hall, calling “mami ... mami ….” but I just ignored him. After a good 20 minutes, I asked kakak to try feeding him. I’ve made up my mind that if he rejected again, he will go on empty stomach! He as if knew I was not going to “manja” him anymore and he finished whole bowl of porridge! It works!
Again, at night, I firmly told him if he’s not eating his dinner, then I’m not going to bring him to see the diggers & dump trucks at the JJ construction site. He finished it.
This morning, I asked him what he wanted for lunch, he replied me mee. So I cooked udon mee for him. After picking him up from school, I firmly told him only after he finished lunch, I will take him to the JJ construction site. It works again!
So now, I’m not going to mention anymore if he’s eating well. Call me superstitious, but I want to be the safe side.

[Xiang 2y9m; Qi 1y7m] Fun fair near Queensbay Mall
I went there to attend my coursemate’s wedding ceremony, a Buddhist wedding ceremony. This is the first ever experience, with charming and monk conducting the ceremony, so special.
At night we make a trip to the fun fair near Queensbay Mall, very nice park indeed, and the kids have so much fun.
[Xiang 2y9m; Qi 1y7m] Lanterns Night
The kids were so happy to meet each other again, all played crazily, laughing and running around. When one asked for milk, the others also followed.
“不要吓我…. 我怕怕!” (Don’t frighten me … I’m scared!) He walked away so far whenever he saw the fireworks sticks being lighted up. I actually feel heart pain, coz I see the shadow of me in him. I am a very timid person; dislike all loud noises and horror movies. Xiang is just like me, sigh …
So he was playing with candles and lanterns all night. As long as he enjoyed himself, I don’t want to push him to accept the fireworks sticks.

SG LONG H1N1

~~~~~
翔爹准备了三盘水果,由于苹果不够,所以放了2粒橙在其中一盘.
翔爹把两盘纯苹果的放好神台后,就去忙拿茶杯.还有一盘杂果的就放在翔的小桌子上,想过后才出去放在天宫台.
当翔爹过后要拿剩余的水果, 吓!剩下2粒橙!!!不会吧,翔吃啦??!
咦?嘴巴没有啊??? “翔,苹果呢?”
翔带爸爸到地主公那儿,好卡哉!苹果在那里. “做什么放在这边?”
翔:“一样的…放一起”
~~~~~
~~~~~
爸爸蹲下来在烧金纸.
突然看到翔也在不远处蹲下来.可是他把其中一只脚伸长放左边,又再把它放右边,又尝试把它缩起来,脸上还有一点点困扰+痛苦.
“翔,脚怎么了?痛啊?”
翔没理会爸爸,一边努力的转换他的脚,一边瞄爸爸. 原来他在学爸爸的蹲法!
哈哈哈哈哈,爸爸笑到没有气!
P/S: 爸爸蹲法:像古时接受国王的恩赐那样蹲下.
再P/S: 我上班了,很可惜,看不到,有爸爸的口述我都笑到眼泪流!
[翔2y7m] YAKULT厂,芙蓉烧包之NO.2校外旅行后感
一大早起床, 翔爹带我和翔吃早餐ROTI CANAI.我对翔说我们要去看YAKULT厂,要去做包包,和老师们一起坐巴士去,就好像上次去动物园般.翔想了想,说:”还有坐TRAIN”.原来他还记得我们上次去动物园乘坐的LRT.
8点,集合,同样的老师训话.望望四周,只认识一对夫妇,3年班参与的学生比上次的少.上了巴士,翔坚持站住,因为坐下他看不到窗外.
过后,我在他们的店里买了烧包,还有一包果子冻,找了个地方做下休息.开了果子冻给翔,他超爱吃.他看到朋友们望着他,自动的跳下椅子派果子冻.朋友吃玩了再向他讨,他也再分,不一会儿,整包分完了.虽然在家,他也很乐意分享他的食物,可是我没想到在外他也很大方.我突然间有点明白,为何有好几位小朋友都很爱照顾他(老师说的),因为他对朋友的体贴,因为他的乐意分享.
[翔2y7m] NO.2校外旅行
这次又将会是我孤身作战.我记得翔爹他在无法参与上次的动物园之游说过,下次一定不缺席.翔应该不记得了,我倒是很失望,其中最重要的是他的不守诺言.虽然我明白翔爹都为了有个更好的家庭环境而努力的赚钱.可是爸爸也应该参与孩子们的成长过程啊.虽然有妈妈陪同,可是如果也有爸爸在的感觉肯定不同.
我小时候,最最最不满我父母的是他们的不守诺言,他们的约法三章90%是不可靠的.其次就是他们过于保护我,连中学的校外旅行考察我也无法去.当同学们回来时,我更本无法和她们交谈,只因为我没参与,考察的后感报告我也无法做.(还好是团体报告,也还好我有一班好朋友们,肯接受我这个什么都不懂的团员)
无数次我哭着对他们喊:”你们骗我~~~”/”我要去~~~”,更多的时候,我躲在房间里哭着想离家出走(胆小怕事的我当然只是想想而已).这也是可能为什么我有一段非常叛逆的时期,对父母的不礼貌,吃饭后就躲房间不肯出来,还有假期的晚上不到3点是不回家滴.
我曾经有个员工,她在大学的成绩是顶呱呱,什么奖章都有,所以我们对她的期望也很高.她第一个星期来上班就吓了我们一跳.她爸特地请了一星期的假,老远从家乡来到这里.只为了每天上下班时,坐在她身旁指示她驾车,可是当时她已有执照几年了.
我们厂里的生产部向来是和我们品质部的”死对头”.因为她一个小小的错误, 生产部趁机投诉大老板.结果她就坐在那儿懊悔足足哭了3天!还有一次,她乘朋友车来,因为当天她感觉到信心全失,不敢驾车来上班(我们听了都目瞪口呆,不懂说什么好).每个星期六&日,她肯定回家乡,躲回爸妈的怀抱.后来她没做多久,承受不了压力,回家乡另谋高就.我们每个都觉得很不可思议,可是也证实了成绩好,并不代表以后你可以闯一番大事业.
看到别人的经历及自己小时的不满,我都时时刻刻都提醒自己, 不可重蹈覆辙!
P/S: 不懂为何写那么多,本来只想写个郊游就算了,越扯越远.
P/S2: 我要改用中文了,练习下,以应对将来的函授课程.
[Xiang 2y7m] Right, or Wrong
Finally with a sigh, I took off his shoes, put him inside the slide tube, with a light pat on his backside and told him “没有人下来了… Go Go Go!!!” He reacted like an animal with his chain untied, dashing up the slide. When he reached the top and emerged from the tube, he waved to us and gave us a big bright smile.
Seeing him like this makes me think again. We adults are making and following all the rules. Who says the slide can be only played one way sliding down? Why not going up instead? The kid is creative in his playing while all I think of is “that is not right”. I’ve sent him to music class in order to expose him to creativity, but I’m blocking him in real life, aren’t it contradictory?
I still have a lot to learn about holding back my “no”s and my “don’t”s. The straighter I am with my boy, the more he’ll resist. I guess that if he did hurt himself along the way, it’s just part of growing, and even if so, he’ll learn from it. Who actually went through childhood without a scratch? If I did not give in to his wishes earlier on, I wonder how the story would end? Dragging a crying toddler back home most probably and I’ll sure miss his big bright smile!
Note: I usually post up in my multiply but I doesn't know why sometimes it doesn't link to my blogspot. Anyway, so many mommies over there provide their thoughts on this and it's really useful for me. Do hop over to see it [Click here]
